The art is fantastic, and this is honestly a really good mini game. But I for the life of me can not get it to load this one room on my computer. (It's an intel i3 8th gen CPU laptop with my OS being windows 10) This is using the fixed version too. I don't blame you though. I know you're trying.

I should specify that the black bar happens every time regardless of action. In the run attached with the image (which is my first game right after downloading), I immediately went to get the torch, lost 2 clothes from the hooks, and then entered this cursed room.

I play on Windows and every time I try to get into the game it never gets past the loading screen? It also lags my laptop a lot...

Sorry to hear that, please check out the comment thread a little below started by "TheLordOfCinder" there seems to be a few users suffering from instant crashes due to the way godot 4 renders and exports the game.

But you said it never gets past the loading screen? It might be that your device isn't powerful to run the game, can you tell me the specs of your device and the operating system you're using so I can double check if there's a different way to help make it run?

Well tbh I'm not really sure how to check the specs. This is a rather cheap laptop so I assume it just can't process the game sadly.

I'm sorry to hear that!

Also this is how you would get your specs:

Find the “My Computer” icon on the computer's desktop or access it from the “Start” menu.
Right-click the “My Computer” icon. From the menu, choose “Properties” down at the bottom.
A window will come up which will provide some specs
If you're not able to do that, then no sweat, I'm just trying to get a better understanding of what devices can't run the game so I can make sure to explicitly list the specs for my next one (so that people don't accidentally buy it and can't play it!)

me encanto el juego

I just bought the game on android but it crashes on startup is there a fix?

Unfortunately the android and mac versions are experimental and may not work on every device, If they fail to run I would recommend trying the windows version. I've been trying to figure out why this happens, but havent been able to fix it yet.

how about a demo version?

The game is simply too short for a demo, the longest ending needs 5 minutes, the others less. Still worth the 3 dollars.

I can't play the game as it wouldn't even bring me to the main menu it just crashes I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game

Hopefully some of the suggestions there can be of help to you and I'm sorry that the game isn't working on your machine!

Well, that was super fucking cute.

The art is fantastic and contains what I'd want out of ENF and, for a 15-minute game, I really dug the lore/characterisation.

No more puns, fuck you*

I come for meme

I can't even open the game. The game keeps crashing with a PCIE error, and the app has crashed my phone as well.

I've been researching into this specific issue since it's come up a few times and it appears to be a problem with the renderer godot 4 is using.

  • here are a few options you can do to try to fix it
    • Make sure your graphic drivers are up to date, and if they are not try to update them
    • Run the game with the --rendering-driver opengl3 flag to force Godot to use the old opengl3 drivers
    • If you are running and older GPU or something like intel integrated graphics you may need to consider upgrading to a newer GPU

Those are the current recommended solutions as the issue has to do with the renderer and not coding specific issues on my end from the looks of things. Could you also let me know what the OS that you are running is and what graphics card you are using, that could help me isolate which users are more likely to get this issue

How do i run the game with the driver flag?

This is what my research has said to do, however, it requires command line stuff, which is weird and I'm not fully sure if this works properly:

  • You can either go to a terminal and run
    • C:\path\to\game.exe --rendering-driver opengl3
  • or create a shortcut (.lnk) and edit its properties to append
    • --rendering-driver opengl3 to the path to the binary.

If that and updating your drivers still does not work, try this:

  • Uninstall the “OpenCL™, OpenGL® and Vulkan® Compatibility Pack” and then attempt to run the software

If those attempts *still* do not work, then that means your hardware can't support the game and I would recommend requesting a refund for the game or attempting to run the game on a different device. Hopefully one of these suggestions helps!!

that worked, ty

The game immediately crashes on launch: Samsung Galaxy A23, running Android 14.

Any suggestions?

Hi back with a review for PC. Just a quick one.

there seems to be a problem when I get dialog or preform actions.

I keep getting this code.

   at: remove (./core/templates/self_list.h:80)

ERROR: Condition "p_elem->_root != this" is true.

   at: remove (./core/templates/self_list.h:80)

and it repeats no matter how long i wait. It's not unplayable, however I'm yet to pass even once. Anyhow, goodluck with the coding and all.

Just purchased the game. (Hope the money helps even tho it aint much) ill try the experimental android version and give a review in a bit.

(+2)

So here is a brief review after a few attempts for the mobile.

1: The game does start, however it's a bit slow. The screen is dark for about 20-40s while music plays and then the main menu appears.

2: I can press play and credits but that's about it. The dialog appears and I can read through it all smoothly. The problem occurs when the game actually tries to start. So after Moushley says to get all the cheeses it freezes ups, the music stutters and crashes.

I've tried leaving and going back, slowly going through the dialog and a phone restart. Sadly none work. I hope this is helpful. My phone is a Samsung A34 5G so that shouldn't be the issue.

Final note. PC would be the way to go if you want to play this game. Remember it is still in experimental for Android and Mac so patients to any andriod/Mac only users. Have a great day.

It sounds like the crash is an issue with how I'm loading the assets for the different rooms at runtime. I'm planning on restructuring how it instantiates objects into rooms so that it'll be a bit more streamlined, but knowing this puts it at a higher priority.

Thank you so much for giving me the details on what you tried and the device as well!

Must be troublesome :/, anyways I'm happy to help. Goodluck with everything! Have a wonderful day/night.

im sad that Sex scene was deleted >:
but it was great  game~ thx for making great game<:

Oh why was it deleted?!

(+1)(-2)

Here's a quote from the bonus section of the game (that you get if you unlock all 3 cheeses):
"The sex scenes were removed due to a desire to keep the focus honed into ENF and clothing damage."

But to elaborate a little more on that, I had trouble fitting it into the narrative in a way that felt good to me, without breaking consistency with the characters, and that didn't make people go "well why isn't there a sex scene for every ending" so instead it got changed into a sketch and added to the bonus pages.

could it be an extra download if one purchased the game (as non-canon)?

I seem to be unable to run the android version at all qnq

I Hear the music, it gets all glitchy and then it boots me out to the home screen

Yeah, unfortunately, the Mac and Android builds are VERY experimental, since I don't have an effective way to bugtest and iterate on it in a reasonable span of time. It's my first time building for those platforms too, but I'll try to see if I can find out why it would crash on startup!

(+1)

ohhh i'm excited to play this when i have the chance!

(+1)

Really nice and well done. Is it considered rude to ask for more? :P

What were your favorite things in the game and what did you want more of? I haven't committed to my next project yet so I'm still mining for ideas!

(1 edit) (+1)

Personally I just love clothing damage in enf and its so rare that its got any sort of focus from a game standpoint. While I'm sure it adds a lot to the art department, especially in terms of variants of pieces, design wise It's easy to scale up, you just have to think of more wacky traps and such. Also I think its fun when the player gets some choice  in what's lost (I.e. with the hook you could lose 1 or 2 layers, while the others are more of just a "yes or no")

Maybe an extra layer or two, too (off the top of my head it mentions that Moushley's bra was destroyed by the blade trap but when she's hanging from the hook iirc she's clearly not wearing one.)

I think I found a bug where a room gets completely covered in a black box. Don't know how to fix.

How many runs have you done before this and from what room did you enter here? Looks like you got the first cheese and probably came from the top door, did you interact with anything first?

I closed the program and tried again from the beginning, it just does it as soon as I enter the room at all, regardless of any other inputs.

I found the console and tried to enter the room again, got this:

Are you running the windows version, and can you delete the game files and redownload it from the page? If you were able to advance past it the first time, then something weird might have happened with the game files when you reached this room again since this is the first time I've seen this bug and haven't been able to replicate it

I'm getting this glitch too

I'm also having this issue, and re-extracting the file isn't helping. I can still play it, though i have to blindly click on things until i activate it.

Sweet, it's out, and the art came together really nicely for the final version!

Thanks!!! I'm glad you liked how the final version came out. Thanks so much for playtesting too!!
